Our 2023 workshop with Array Collective was a joyful, intense, catalytic and meditative experience - over five packed days, an intrepid group of world- and character-building explorers created profound, visceral and ecstatic work.

This year, Array return with a fresh workshop and a new opportunity to embark on a creative journey in the French Pyrenees, guided by Array Collective artists Jane Butler, Emma Campbell, and Clodagh Lavelle. This week-long programme invites participants to explore their creativity through self awareness and peer to peer collaboration.

Delve into the cultural origin of stories that mirror your modern experiences, and speak to connections between the ancient and the here and now. Engage in site-specific drawing, worldbuilding, found materials, and collaborative performances, fostering unique characters and narratives. This reflective experience has previously prompted deep introspection, encouraging individuals to explore and develop their personal stories and community concerns into new creative practices within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Amid the creative exploration, you can also choose to enjoy invigorating hikes and refreshing swims in the beautiful surroundings. Nourishment is provided with delicious meals and wines throughout the week, tailored to accommodate various dietary preferences. This ensures participants can focus entirely on their creative pursuits and collaborative connections.

Don't miss this opportunity to nurture your creativity, meet like-minded individuals, and share some laughs while savouring the charm of the French Pyrenees!

Array Collective are a group of eleven artists rooted in Belfast, who create collaborative actions in response to socio-political issues affecting Northern Ireland. The collective has been working together since 2016, galvanised by the growing anger and momentum in local movements advocating for human rights. Array Collective reclaim and question traditional identities in the North of Ireland using humour, storytelling, and DIY approaches. They playfully merge performance, protest, ancient mythology, photography, installation and video.

Array Collective are the first Northern Irish artists to win the Turner Prize - they were awarded the prize for their work "The Druthaib's Ball", presented in the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry (UK), in 2021.
