BOOK
This onsite workshop in the mountains is based on Lorenzo's sold out online session ("The Architecture of Intensity"), with a little twist. Taking place at 750m altitude, surrounded by the epic peaks, ancient forests and glacial lakes of the Pyrenean mountains, The Architecture of Intensity Project will touch on the same subjects and topics as the online sessions, but in the style of the influential DIY horror masterpiece "The Blair Witch Project"! It's going to be intense, catalytic, enlightening, and tons of fun. Following the workshop, we'll be curating a compilation of work by participants for release on CAMP Editions.

From his initial breakthrough on Editions Mego in 2012 through to his recent outputs on Warp Records, Lorenzo Senni 's sonic sculptures and explorations of rave dynamics have formed a unique, ever-surprising journey into his self-coined sphere of "rave voyeurism". This extraordinary workshop will dive deep into the ideas and technical aspects of Lorenzo's creative process, focusing both on his personal music production, and how he approaches his art every day, outside the studio.

We'll look at strategies to understand and define your particular approach to art-making, to bring your background and life into your music, and to understand what you like (and why). You will define and explore key focus elements in your work, and examine the importance of building an underlying concept alongside the "sound" of your music - this concept will form an important element to refer to when you are looking for answers, or you have to make choices during the creative process.

We'll move towards understanding the importance of being able to speak about your art and work, to communicate about it, to find a visual compendium. To engage people in your work, you need to believe in what you do, and be able to talk about it passionately.

Lorenzo Senni is a Milan-based producer, composer and multidisciplinary artist devoted to investigating and abstracting the archetypes and mechanisms of specific dance music genres. Best known for deconstructing the epic build-ups and ecstatic synthesizer arpeggios of '90s trance and hard techno, Lorenzo uses repetition and isolation as key tactics in his production. His recordings, installations and performances deconstruct and almost sadistically subvert various aspects of the typical euphoric sound, and of rave culture.

In 2016 Lorenzo Senni signed to Warp and released his EP "Persona" - it was awarded the prestigious "Honorary Mention" at Prix Ars Electronica, one of the most respected and longest running yearly prizes in the field of digital culture and music. In 2020 he released his debut album with Warp - the critically acclaimed "Scacco Matto" (checkmate in Italian) took Senni's concepts and music ideas to a more conceptual introspective territory, referring directly to the game of chess - a game described by most master players as a life-long challenge with the inner-self. Press response to "Scacco Matto" was effusive - "The Italian producer charges the euphoria of dancefloor anticipation with punk spirit in these joyous, poignant tracks" (The Guardian); "Lorenzo Senni is a grandmaster of unsolved tension" (Pitchfork).

As founder of experimental label Presto!? Records, he has released albums by internationally acclaimed artists including Florian Hecker, DJ Stingray, Carsten Holler, Palmistry, Triad God, Curtis Roads and Donato Dozzy. He has composed music for Cinema, Theatre, TV and Film including a soundtrack for Yuri Ancarani's award-winning movies "Da Vinci" and "The Challenge", music for the Netflix cult series "Black Mirror", Wayne McGregor's "+/- Human" as well as a documentary about 'Fiorucci' fashion house. He has supplied music for Maserati, Fendi & Nike ads.

Lorenzo has performed and exhibited worldwide including Sonar Festival (Barcelona), Centre Pompidou (Paris), MACBA, SMAK, TATE Modern (London), Primavera Festival, MAXXI Rome, Serpentine Gallery (London), Hangar Bicocca (Milan), and Auditorium Parco della Musica.
